As a railroad town, Roanoke, Virginia was home to many operations associated with Norfolk & Western Railroad. N&W (now known as Southern Railroad) donated two office buildings to the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority for conversion to rental apartments. The buildings 80 units all have different floor plans: from small studio apartments to large two bedroom, two story units. The renovation qualified the project for historic tax credits.
