Rockbridge County Court House

Architect:
BCWH
Contract Amount:
$29.2 M

The new Rockbridge County Court House is located at the corner of Nelson and Randolph Streets in historic Lexington, Virginia, a challenging site that drops almost 40 feet and is situated so as to limit site access and staging during construction.  The 130,000 square foot structure, which is divided almost evenly between the court house and structured parking, draws on the architecture of the Lexington community both in design and materials.  Designed by BCWH of Richmond, the project also takes advantage of the site topography.  Three levels of parking are below the street level of the adjacent Nelson Street Bridge.
